Dr Linda Ronnie (University of Cape Town) & Dr Paul Wakeling (University of York)
Dr Linda Ronnie from the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, visited the Department in September to work with Paul Wakeling on a project comparing the motivations and educational backgrounds of MBA students in South Africa and the UK. Linda has research interests in access to higher education, particularly for adult 'returners' which are complementary to Paul's interests in access to postgraduate study.
Twenty two interviews were undertaken with MBA students in the two countries and the results will be written up for publication. The link was made possible with funding from the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) and follows a string of other links between the Department and South African universities.
