Vice-Chancellor's scholarships
These scholarships are across Faculties and reward academic excellence in the matriculation exam and no application is required by school leavers.
About the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships:
- are valued at R40 000 per annum
- are valid for three years, subject to being named on the Dean's Merit List in your faculty, at the levels specified by your faculty
- are not awarded in addition to Entrance Scholarships in your first year of study
- are not awarded in addition to faculty scholarships after the first year of study
Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship will be offered to you if:
- you were among the top ten Mathematics, English and Computer Science Olympiad winners in 2012
- you attended a WCED school in 2012, finished among the top 10 in the final NSC examinations, and applied for admission to UCT in 2013
- you were among the top 15 achievers nationally, but not from the Western Cape, in the 2012 NSC examinations, administered by the Department of Basic Education, who applied for admission to UCT in 2013
- you were among the top 5 achievers of Independent Examination Board (IEB) NSC writers in 2012, and applied for admission to UCT in 2013.
