Semester Study Abroad
Services: Pre-departure information: Booking flights
This arrival transfer is only available to students arriving on the recommended dates.
If you are coming to UCT with one of the following partner programmes (Arcadia, CIEE, IES, Connect-123 or InterStudy) your arrivals transfer will be arranged by them.
We ask that you do not book your flights to Cape Town before you have received confirmation of acceptance onto the study abroad programme.
When booking flights, remember
- not to arrive too early - that is, before your housing is available.
- not to arrive too late - that is, after the beginning of orientation.
- not to leave before the end of the examination period.
We advise students to arrive on the recommended dates, that is 24 or 25 January (first semester) and 4 or 5 July (second semester) for 2013 and to try to arrange flights that land in Cape Town earlier than 6pm. Our recommended date of departure is no sooner than the final day of term, which is June 7 (first semester) and 17 December (second semester) 2013.
Once you have made a flight reservation, please complete the flight details form. This form will be automatically sent to Jonathan Mitchell and he will arrange your airport transfer.
Please note that your flight details must be submitted before December 30th! We need time to arrange adequate transport for you, so you need to be sure that these details are in before the deadline date!
If you are not arriving on these dates you will need to find you own transport from the airport to your accommodation - please ensure that you have been in contact with your landlord about your late arrival.
Remember not to pack valuables (e.g. camera, laptop) in your hold luggage - rather put them in your carry-on bag.
