ResNet
Overview
The residence network (ResNet) consists of network points in student residence rooms and is logically separated from the rest of the UCT network.
The purpose of ResNet is to provide you, as a student in residence, with access to Internet services as an aid to completing your academic studies. ResNet is not intended to provide you with unlimited Internet access.
Services are limited to:
- the UCT email system
- licenced online Library services (e.g. JSTOR)
- academic & administrative material on UCT websites
- TURNITIN
- online learning environments (e.g. Vula)
- patches to Windows & anti-virus updates
- files via NetStorage (once delivered by the supaTsela Project)
- web browsing (with a monthly volume limit)
