Graduation Day: Graduating's a springboard to success

Africa's successes: African business leader Dr Iqbal Survé delivered the keynote address at the GSB's graduation ceremony this morning.
Family and friends braving the cold huddled together in Jameson Hall this morning as the June Graduation kicked off. Over a thousand graduates will be capped today.
First in line were graduates from the Graduate School of Business (GSB). This is the first time that the GSB has its own graduation ceremony. Three-time UCT alumnus and social activist Dr Iqbal Survé, founder, chairperson and CEO of Sekunjalo Investments Ltd, delivered the keynote address in which he urged graduates to lead Africa to the creation of a good society.
"Africa is at an exciting tipping point," Survé said. "We as South Africans lived through momentous change, but now its Africa's time. Graduates like you can tip the continent into prosperity."
Around 1090 students will be capped at the university's three graduation ceremonies today. This includes more than 760 postgraduates.
