The Employment Equity (EE) Plan aims to support UCT in achieving its transformation agenda with specific reference to the following:
Employee profile
Changing the staff profile of the institution. For academic staff, this should reflect national demographics. For professional, administrative support and service (PASS) staff, this should reflect a combination of both national and regional demographics of the economically active population.
Organisational climate
To create a climate that embraces diversity and the values of the institution.
Retaining staff
To retain staff from the designated groups.
Monitor and evaluate progress
The appointment of the Transformation Director ensures greater coordination of transformation-related activities at the university as well as improvement of the monitoring and evaluation of these initiatives.
