UCT Annual General Meeting of Convocation

Please note that the Annual General meeting of the Convocation will take place as follows:

Date: Thursday, 14 December 2017
Time: 17:00 for 17:30
Venue:  Lecture Theatre 1 (directions)
 Kramer Law Building
 Middle Campus
 UCT


The President of Convocation, Lorna Houston, invites attendees to join her
for refreshments at 17:00, before the meeting.

no later than Thursday, 7 December 2017.

The Convocation is a statutory body and the Annual General Meeting takes place in accordance with the Statute of the University of Cape Town. Notices of motion must be submitted in writing to the Secretary of Convocation at registrar@uct.ac.za by no later than Friday, 3 November 2017. Meetings of Convocation are restricted to members of Convocation. Please refer to the footnote for confirmation of the composition of Convocation.

Note:
The Convocation consists of -
(a) the graduates and all holders of diplomas and certificates of the University;
(b) the vice-chancellor, the deputy vice-chancellors and the academic staff; and
(c) those former professors and associate professors elected by the senate to be emeritus professors or emeritus associate professors.

NSFAS applications for 2018

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme will be opening applications for financial support for the 2018 academic year on 1 August 2017. Students are advised to prepare their supporting documents which must be submitted with their application.

The required supporting documents are:

  • Certified copy of the applicants ID or birth certificate
  • Certified copy the applicants parents or guardians ID as well as ID copies of the household members
  • Certified copy of the pay advice or letter of employment which reflects the household income.
