UCT General Practitioners Conference 2019

Hosted by UCT’s Division of Family Medicine, this year’s theme will focus on nutrition/diet, as well as geriatrics. The schedule of presentations will address the very topical issues of diet and weight loss, as well as the various increasing health problems that older people face. Introduction to Stata

This course is designed for people who need to brush up on their basic Stata skills or who wish to attend the other courses in our programme, in particular, the "Complex Social Survey Data" course or the "Measuring Economic Welfare" one. It will also be useful for anyone who needs a basic Stata refresher. This course is offered twice a year.

Short course in Econometrics

This course will revise the statistical concepts relevant to regression analysis. It will introduce Ordinary Least Squares regression and discuss how and why it is used. Violations of the assumptions required for OLS and their implications will also be covered. Prerequisites: Course participants should be familiar with Stata and with basic statistical tools.
