Fire

Raise the alarm by

1. Breaking the nearest break-glass unit on the fire alarm system;
2. Informing Campus Protection at 021 650 2222 / 3;
3. Informing the emergency controller of the area.

Determine

1. The location of the fire;
2. The seriousness of the fire.

Apply

1. Basic fire-fighting procedures if possible;
2. Evacuation procedures if necessary.

Co-operate

1. Assemble at the emergency control point.
2. Obey all instructions from the buildings emergency controller.
3. Be available to give assistance to emergency services personnel.

Please report any incident that happens on the campus to CPS - even if there is no injury or damage. UCT will need to investigate the incident in order to prevent a similar occurrence.
