Traffic Department

Location

This unit is situated in the Geological Science building on Upper Campus.

Services

• The unit administers the traffic control on all of the University of Cape Town's premises, through patrols and enforcement.
• The department sells parking disks/permits to staff, students and third parties needing to use the parking areas on the university premises.
• The department manages the visitor reception area.
• The department manages the control of vehicle booms in some areas.
• The department's traffic wardens have the same rights as traffic officials on public roads. They have the authority to issue traffic fines and to clamp vehicles when traffic regulations are violated on the university's premises.
• The department administers the University of Cape Town's parking policy.
