The UCT Disability Service works to remove any physical, policy, information and attitude barriers that might prevent students and staff from fulfilling their potential.
It promotes the policy of equal opportunities adopted by the university.
It assists the university to deal correctly and appropriately with disabled students, staff, prospective students, visiting academics and other visitors.

Resource centre
The Disability Service has a resource centre with a large collection of books, journals, videos, DVDs and community-based materials.
These materials offer a wealth of information about all aspects of disability, ranging from physical access through to discussions around the disabled body to literature on disability studies and research.
Material may be taken out on loan.
