Institutional planning

Institutional Information Unit

Environmental Scan

The environmental scan is an assessment of the university's operating environment. It attempts to analyse and interpret trends that impact upon the ability of the institution to respond to, and anticipate, changes, in the external environment of a social, political, economic or technological nature. The report of the environmental scan constitutes a framework for informing planning processes of the institution as a whole. The scan also helps to ensure alignment between the institution's plan and that of the different operating units, which make up the University of Cape Town.
