HIV/AIDS Institutional Co-Ordination Unit (HAICU)
Free voluntary counselling & testing (VCT)

Student Wellness Service (SWS), the campus health service, provides students with HIV counselling and testing and clinical management of HIV, including treatment of opportunistic infections and referral for ARVs.
This confidential service is open Monday to Friday, from 08h30 to16h30, except Thursdays, from 09h30.
Appointments are essential and consultations are free of charge.
Consultations at Student Wellness are one hour long, and clients receive their results immediately after the counselling. Shorter and more accessible VCT is available in the Drop-in Clinic in the Sports Centre on Upper Campus and from the Mobile VCT Van which visits Lower, Middle, Hiddingh and the GSB campuses weekly during Term.
Management and support of HIV-positive clients is offered at no cost to the student.
