Full degree studies: Overview

SADC students

As of 2013 citizens and permanent residents from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are charged a SADC Administration Fee in addition to UCT fees. The SADC Administrative fee for 2014 is R3 000.

The SADC member countries are: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Students from the rest of the world are liable for international fees.

Non-SADC (rest of the world) students liable for international fees

Previously accounts were in US dollars (US$). From 2006, accounts have been in South African rands (ZAR). Accounts will comprise the sum of two components:

Minimum Payments - these are due prior to registration or by 07 February 2014, whichever date occurs first.:

Undergraduate degrees full-time international fee paying students R70 000
Honours degrees full-time international fee paying students R70 000
Masters (Coursework and dissertation) full-time international fee paying students R45 000
Masters (Dissertation only) full-time international fee paying students full fees plus R3 275
PhD full-time international fee paying students full fees plus R3 275
