Start date: 2nd April 2012 For those of you who are interested, a series of decision-making tasks will be running over the next 4 – 6 weeks. Should you wish to participate, you will be required to complete a questionnaire, as well as participate in a task. Tasks will be conducted online via Vula, and should take no more than 5 – 10 minutes of your time. You will be paid for your participation, as based on the decisions that you make in the given task. Should you wish to participate, please join the Vula group Experiments 2012. Please sign up as soon as possible, so that the experiment can commence promptly. Start date: 3rd September 2010 Contact person: Dr Dick Ng'ambi Educators and students in the 21st century are increasingly harnessing the affordances of information communication technologies (ICTs) to enhance teaching, learning and research. This postgraduate programme offers teachers, higher education lecturers and educational policy makers the opportunity to develop their theoretical competence and critical insight for using ICTs in education appropriately, focusing specifically on ICTs in developing country contexts. Programme Structure The programme is offered in three ways to suit students' level of academic interest: Postgraduate diploma in education, Coursework Masters, Masters by research. The coursework Masters in Education (ICT) at UCT is a two-year programme divided in two parts, coursework (year 1) and dissertation (year 2). Courses Compulsory for PGDE Diploma and MEd coursework: EDN6099F ICTs in Education: Key Issues and Debates (only offered in block form in 2011) and EDN6077S Learning, Cognition and Technology (only offered in block form in 2011). Recommended electives for PGDE Diploma and MEd coursework for ICT in Education: EDN6102S Educational ICTs for Developing Contexts (only offered in block form in 2011) and EDN5101S Online Learning Design (only offered in block form in 2011). Compulsory for MEd coursework: EDN6015F Advanced Educational Research Design and Methods and EDN6057W Minor Dissertation. Fees and Financial Assistance There are two types of financial support available: general scholarships or specific Mellon Scholarship funding for applications from African countries.
