Head of Dept., Prof. Isabelle Ansorge and Dr. Sarah Fawcett (UCT Oceanography) will participate in an unprecedented international scientific expedition to explore one of the coldest, harshest and most remote locations in the world: the Weddell Sea off Antarctica.
SEAmester was established in 2016. It is the first of its kind in South Africa and due to its popularity, it will now be held annually. The idea for this ‘class afloat’ comes from Dr Isabelle Ansorge who ‘grew up’ on SEAmester type cruises in Europe.
