UCT Libraries joins Network of Data & Information Curation Communities
UCT Libraries has been invited to join the Network of Data and Information Curation Communities (NeDICC). A national community of practise, NeDICC aims to promote the development and use of research data and information curation standards and practises to ensure the long term preservation and accessibility of digital research outputs in support of e-Research.
The first joint meeting on 20 January 2016 will take the form of a virtual seminar, to reflect on the information shared in the Data-Intensive Research Initiative of South Africa (DIRISA) track of the Centre for High Performance Computing (CHPC) Conference in December 2015.
Future events planned include workshops and seminars for practitioners and managers involved in digital object management practises, to exchange experience and express alternative views.
