December graduation 2007

The University of Cape Town will see about 4 500 students obtaining their academic qualifications during graduations next week, as of Monday, the 10th until Friday, the 14th of December 2007. Graduations take place at UCT's Upper Campus Jameson Hall.


World's top climate scientists call for urgent, tough greenhouse gas limits

More than 200 leading climate scientists have today warned the United Nations Climate Conference of the need to act immediately to cut greenhouse gas emissions, with a window of only 10–15 years for global emissions to peak and decline.

UCT celebrates 40th anniversary of the first heart transplant

On 3 December this year, Groote Schuur Hospital and the University of Cape Town will be celebrating 40 years since the first successful human heart transplant by Professor Christiaan Neethling Barnard and his team of medical professionals.
