As part of the University of Cape Town’s Distinguished Alumni Speaker Series, we have pleasure in inviting UCT students and staff members to join us at a special screening of: ‘Life is Wonderful: Mandela’s Unsung Heroes’, a documentary film by Nick Stadlen on the story of the legal arguments used in the Rivonia Trial which features South African icon, anti-apartheid activist, philanthropist and UCT alumnus, Denis Goldberg.

Over a half a century ago, Denis Goldberg stood trial in the Rivonia trial with Nelson Mandela, Ahmed Kathrada, Walter Sisulu and others. He had spent more than two decades of his life behind bars. He was the youngest of the Rivonia trialists and is one of only two surviving today. The University of Cape Town will award an Honorary Doctorate to Denis Goldberg on Friday, 12 July 2019.

This UCT campus event is hosted to celebrate the life and contribution of an extraordinary South African and struggle hero.

Visit the event Quicket page to purchase your ticket(s) at R50 each.
