On behalf of the Department of Student Affairs, it is an honour and a pleasure to welcome you as our student and as part of the UCT community. We are pleased that you chose to study at this great institution. UCT is home to around 24,000 students from over 118 different countries. The campus reflects a rich diversity of local and international students and staff. The Department of Student Affairs (DSA) has been purposely established to support all students and we welcome connecting with you during your study at UCT.

Student Affairs offers you a range of support services and facilitates development opportunities. We are committed to providing you with a responsive service and, through our offerings, we seek to contribute to UCT's vision and mission in striving to be an outstanding teaching, learning and research university. As a student-centred service, we are dedicated to enabling our students to succeed academically, become engaged citizens and to reach their full potential. Our approach is holistic and developmental, encouraging our students to become well-rounded individuals who are able to make significant contributions in all walks of life.

The range of services provided by the DSA is summarised:

We urge you to make the most of your time at UCT by taking full advantage of the rich diversity on campus, meeting other students, making many new friends and learning about other cultures whilst preparing yourself to take up your rightful role in an increasingly global environment.
