UCT leads, in Africa, in four of the five major world university rankings: Times Higher Education, Quacquarelli Symonds, Center for World University Rankings and US News Best Global Universities.

Times Higher Education

UCT moved 20 places to 136th position in the latest 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

US News

The sixth edition of the US News Best Global Universities rankings saw UCT being ranked 121st globally for 2020.

Winter School 2021

The University of Cape Town’s Winter School offers over thirty short courses across a range of disciplines.
Winter School 2021 will be delivered online and will feature lectures that respond to Covid-19 and present lessons learnt in preparation for future pandemics.
There’ll also be courses on current political issues, history, and science offerings that will explain the links between wildlife and Covid-19. Arts and Humanities will cover African cinema, art restitution, and more.
